I once told Becca that even if I were deaf, I'd still love to watch you play guitar. The longing and intensity are evident in your face. It's as much a visual experience as an auditory one.

A lot of people are musically talented... but few realize that the voice is God's original instrument and respond by gifting their songs back to him. In my experience, this is why you're an extraordinary worship leader. Because when your fingers graze the strings or hit the keys, it's obvious that it's not about you. Instead your heart is yearning to be drawn into Jesus' presence.

Through the rawness and vulnerability of your music, God breaks down walls. It's hard to not get caught up in such a beautiful pursuit.

When I picture you singing, I do think of story telling, like a prophet. This is what prophets do, though, isn't it? They call people to look at the past and present, and then call them into a redemptive future. You just do it all nice and purdy. :)

The other thing I think of when I picture you singing is war cries. Almost like Greek Sirens...though, used for a good cause, not an evil one. And that's what worship is anyway, isn't it? The front-line weapon of battle.

Bah I love worship.

This has little to do with what you wrote (because it's quite a mouthful to swallow), but for some reason I find it so interesting that so much of our life-journeys are unraveled through our internal struggles to figure out ourselves as artists.

At least for me, I am constantly discovering myself as an artist and what that calling means--that it is a calling, and not only a gift or a fun hobby, and it inevitably speaks to a magnitude of broader realities as well--for myself and for others. Such is reflected in your writings as well.

That was vague but whatever.

"Thus adding to the landscape that the song has already painted in the minds and hearts of listeners."
you don't add to it, you highjack it. just sayin.
